Girl will be in rehab by the time she's sixteen if the fashion industry maintains this sudden random interest in her as they have done of late.
It's weird. The first time I flicked past it I thought the model was either super short, or shot from above so as to look short or something!

Luella is Mystic Meg?

When browsing through old Kate pictures, I came across some involving neon glowstick-like make up and fluorescent patterned print dresses (not to mention the accompanying catwalk) at Luella in 2001.

Maybe she's just way ahead of us all somehow.. whatever it is, grab your glowsticks girls!

I do love her stuff, especially that patent monochrome alphabet coat this season. :)

She's So Vogue

Quite literally. Daria is the latest Vogue UK cover girl and they even profile her inside for once! I really don't know exactly what they were expecting when they asked her favourite scent.. Lancôme Hypnose, anyone?! I have become quite fond of her as of late I must admit.. maybe it's just that leather jacket she's wearing inside. *drools*
Also catching my interest at the moment is Chanel, and particularly, Lagerfeld. I'm not sure why, but something about that man is amazing, and I don't know whether it's in a good or a bad way?! Maybe it's his $500 jeans, or his 27 suitcases he travels with.. but there's something, and when I happened to stumble across this video involving both subjects of current interest, I felt compelled to feature it. Not that it's particularly interesting or anything haha but it does give you a bit of a laugh at Werbowy's claims that Karl is "always in there with pop culture".

Christmas

It's been a while dolls, and I'm sad to say I have taken to posting fashion blogs on Christmas day. My excuse is an escape from pesky relatives haha. Gifts were interesting.. not too sure about the ice cube tray my father decided would be a good present idea, but I did get some lovely other ones. Best ones have to be:

* MONEY!!! :D

Armani Privé

In Paris this year Armani displyed his Autumn '06 couture line, Armani Privé, sending ripples into the pond of the fashion-conscious world. With 31 evening looks, he subtly but forcefully declared delicate tulle as the fabric for evening wear, inspired by the 40s with faint traces of the decade throughout the collection.

This gorgeous strapless evening gown as modelled by Caroline Amaral is so simple yet elegant and the full skirt really looks amazing! My second favourite out the whole collection.

This sparkly, midnight blue number looks stunning for an evening look...perfect for an award ceromony and/or if you are an extremely wealthy A-list celebrity (ah, so that's where I'm going wrong...)

My ultimate favourite! This floaty bejewelled dress is a fairytale - perfect for the princess in us all... *sigh* ♥

Fashion Bestsellers

It has occurred to me that books are slowly gaining respect in the fashion world. Although there has (and always will be it seems) fashion bloggers like myself and, of course, magazines, there has never to my knowledge been exactly an abundance of fashion books. But with recent releases of "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Fashion Babylon" making headlines and headway into a world full of literary fashion promise, a girl like myself can't help but smile. A publisher directed specifically at fashion books is Assouline who published the Chloé book I love so much, and many, many other titles...check it out.

YSL Serpentine Party

I don't know about you, but it sure looks like one hell of a party I'd like to go to!

As I'm sure you can see, the theme was overwhelmingly pink...everywhere! The guests, of course, all turned up in YSL and there were some beautiful, beautiful people...

I ♥ Sonya Rykiel

I WAS intending to write about the SS06 collection because that is just amazing and because of exams I only just got round to it but all the SS06 shows seem to have been removed! *sigh* So I shall be doing the AW06 instead which is just as equally fabulous! The whole collection seems to have some kind of on-going theme of Parisian chic which I LOVE and makes for a fab wintery look. The first outfit that caught my eye when browsing is this beige and black printed dress that I have actually fallen in love with to be honest!

There was a whole collection within the collection of racy black lingerie-type inspired dresses that aren't very practical for the winter weather but certainly do make a day at home with the heating on fun! Just make sure your underwear is also black....

Next, I spotted this cinched-in-at-the-waist light brown number...again with the Parisian thing, the colour palette is (as you would naturally assume) subdued and dark but very very glamourous in its own way. There are also subtle hints towards flowers too, and I'm loving the shoes in this pic!

Now, I would post more pics but Blogger's being stupid and isn't working (this happened last time) so I'll have to leave it for now. Grrr.....♥

Net-a-porter wishlist *sigh*

What an amazing invention it is...there are a million-and-one things that I wouldn't hesitate in whipping out a credit card....if only it weren't for the damned prices!! But when flicking through the "new" section out of interest I found so many beautiful garments that just had to have a post of their own! First up (and also in my dreams) is the large leather Chloé tote bag in black (you should know I have a slight Chloé fetish)....

What a fabulous thing this is - I could only imagine the pleasure and sheer joy of owning one!! One day, definitely....

Next is the Anna Sui strapless gown which is pure designing genius in my opinion - if would definitely wear this (and I'm not a dress-y girl!) Simply beautiful:

I have no idea why I like this so much...I guess it's just so cute and simple! And who cares if it's 25ºC outside?! Okay, the Burberry Windsor trench is next....again with the weather thing but still! It's so very stylish that it deserves a mention! Besides, it'll probabaly be raining in September - I'm just being prepared haha.

...is what it took to create the masterpiece that is the July UK Vogue cover. Gemma Ward basks in Aussie sun in a barely-there underwear set surrounded by the lush greenery of Western Australia. Carmen dell'Orefice celebrated her 75th birthday 6 days ago now...happy birthday to a legend! The world's oldest and record-breaking supermodel is still signed to an agency and looks absolutely fabulous! (With the help of some self-confessed botox appointments every month, of course.)
She also gave an interview with UK Elle for the June issue alongside Lydia Shaw Hearst (who is more than half a century younger) which made one hell of an interview on all topics such as the changing fashion world, the qualities necessary in models of both their times and their general life outside of the fashion world. ♥

Looks like somebody's been busy this week! This photo was taken at an auction for Palastinian refugees in London club Annabel's when Philip Green bid £60,000 for a 60-second kiss from Kate Moss but when his wife disapproved he gave the prize to the next highest bidder which just so happened to be Jemima Khan - wehey! I'm sure Mr. Green got a treat there - the rest of the crowd did also, as was proven by the tumultuous cheering going on at the time! ♥

Oh dear....

I really shouldn't laugh....but it's just so funny!! Mind you, I can be slightly evil at times....it seems our party princess' Manolos slipped out from underneath her while at Kelly O's house....maybe she just saw Ozzy in his underwear?! She gave an interview with UK Vogue last year when she was barely on the fashion scene and what struck me the most was her age, for back then I didn't realise how old the models actually were, or how young they could be to be more precise. She was only sixteen and at the time I was amazed of how she was doing it - a Daddy's girl, growing up in South Africa when she was spotted by an agent one day whilst shopping in her local nearby town. She said she had done some recent minor modelling for a few designers but she had had go-sees with Fendi and a few other big names and I vaguely remember her saying some thing like: "I was so nervous but my friend reassured me that it would be okay - and it would! Just a few days later I got a call back and my friend told me that they must have liked my look and I was so excited!" Well sweetie, I think the whole world has now taken to your look because you've been on all the hottest runways lately!.....

Speaking of Burberry....

I was just looking at the s/s and a/w '06 collections for Burberry for a picture of the ribbon-cinched waists when I really started to notice how good Burberry Prorsum actually is! The accessories are fabulous and the clothes amazing and it is only now that I have actually taken the time to really appreciate the style and tailoring of Burberry. Outstanding. Kudos to Christopher Bailey!

Here is one of the fab cinched-in waists that are gracing the catwalks of Burberry this season - I'm SO gonna buy a ribbon at a craft shop and have Burberry-like style without the price that goes with it! I wonder how much it actually is?! Hmmm.....now I'm curious......anyone?!

Now I'm not a yellow type of girl but this is one fabulous bag! And because it fits in perfectly with all the rest of the collection it just looks so good! Especially gorgeous for summer.

Now I just love this watch! A summer staple in my opinion and a huge dent in your purse to go with it! Elegant and irrsistable jewellery for a perfect summer wardrobe.

And where would we be without this season's must-have - the trapeze coat? Classic styling by the man himself. What more does a girl need?! ♥

The wonder that is the Versace dress

Seeing as I love them so much, I thought I would blog about the wonder that is Versace dresses. They are the most beautiful, flowing, elegant dresses and each season Donatella creates new styles and colours but still manages to keep the general fabulousness that, I think, makes up half of a Versace show each season. So lets start with Autumn/Winter '06 then shall we?

First up is this cute little aqua-marine number worn with (and not something I would have immediately thought of) black tights. And it works! Even though I'm not exactly a huge fan of draping this season, this dress manages to do the trend and make it look good. And lets not forget the striking blue eyeshadow to match!

Next is this short (but longer than the last one) grey-blue halter-neck dress that also is doing the draping trend (to be honest I think most of the Versace dresses this season have draping). I love the matching eyeshadow again and also how well the dress goes with brown hair but I don't think that it flatters Isabli Fontana's figure so much - but maybe it's just the way she's walking? Even so, I still think that this dress would suit less curvy figures - but it's still gorgeous!

Now this is a beautiful dress! I never thought of Gemma Ward as the type to pull off a Versace dress - she was always too innocent and clean-cut looking - but by God she did it! (With the help of some heavy eyeshadow and hair straighteners of course). The colour is to-die-for and it looks fabulous when you strut! An overall perfectly Versace dress!

This dress is like a more toned down version of the last one - for more subtle people but still equally gorgeous! The A-line neckline is very popular this season also - Donatella sure knows how to work the trends! This is the kind of dress that if you shine the light in the right place then it looks amazing - and this one does! Less of the eye make-up this time but still a beautiful colour - I spy a sea-colour pattern!

Now THIS is a dress for the curvy figure! Simply gorgeous! A strapless, black, figure-hugging, ruffled prom-style dress - perfect for any occasion! (Except maybe weddings?!)

Now that is one fabulous shade of purple! I love purple and especially this eye-catching, subtly-sexy shade! Versace is all about the sexiness of a dress of course - don't go mistaking it for sluttiness though - there's a difference! A peek of taut, toned thigh through flowing swathes of shiny fabric is how you do it á la Hilary Rhoda in this picture. Work it! This is definitely one of my favourites!

This, however, is one of my least favourites. Maybe it's the warrior-like detail on the top or the strange under layers, I don't know. All I do know is that it's not exactly the best one of the collection! But that's only my opinion of course.

Wow. This is my ULTIMATE favourite. By far. And that's all I can muster after staring at this for a while. Just wow.

Now this dress is on the right figure - slim, svelte and still sexy. More draping as well, of course and more of the eye make-up - I think Donatella really has the right idea here - by enhancing your best features (eyes, legs) and setting them off with a stunningly coloured dress it can really work wonders for you!

Once again, this is a dress for the curvier figure but it still looks absolutely gorgeous on Anja Rubik (of course). When viewed on a larger scale you can really appreciate how good this dress actually is - one again, the beading is gorgeous and there's another trend here: empire-line dresses! The boots are also an interesting choice but I think they work! Although I still think a classic pair of 4-inch high strappys would do the job even better.

Slightly more covered up here than usual from Donatella but the oh-so pale pink and wispy fabric at the bottom really help this dress to be the fairy-tale that it is. Beautiful.

This gorgeous little purple number (an even nicer purple than before) as worn by Irina with yet more black leggings and high-heeled black patent pumps really works all the trends: yet more draping, (sort of) empire line, patent leather & tights! Not to mention the Autumnal hue of deep purple that pulls the whole thing together.

The last one - I know this is going on for a bit! More boots, draping and this time.....metallics! The bands of gold material that randomly cross around the dress ensure that it really stands out and catches the light in all the right places....the boots again are not the ususal choice, but a practical one for winter! This collection is even better than the last and Donatella really pulls out all the stops to create fashion masterpieces! An overall, fashion fabulous collection in my opinion. ♥

Couture Stripped

Whilst I was on the subject of UK Vogue May 2006, I thought I may as well mention about the 'Couture Stripped' editorial as the dresses are just so breathtaking!

I love the Chanel in this picture - It's the length, the feathers and the gorgeous beading which you can see on the bodice (at least you can in the magazine).

The Valentino in this pic also has fabulous beading on it - I guess I'm just a a sucker for detail! And couture of course.

The dress that really caught my eye though is the silvery Givenchy creation on the right in this picture - just amazing! Ah, if only such things were accessible to a girl like me: great taste, but just not the money to fund it....♥

Royalty rage

When buying the latest 'Vogue', weren't you just ecstatic (like me) to see that there would be exclusive photographs of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall? Great. I can't even buy the magazine I like without having to stare at their pretentious faces and pompous clothes. If I wished to see a 7-page spread of two wrinkled old people that I happen to hate then I wouldn't be buying Vogue. But I do buy it and I still have to see it! Grrr.....

NICOLE??!

So.....anyone see America's Next Top Model finale?! (Bare with me all you Americans - this is England and cycle 5 has only just finished! Well, a week ago.) Even though I already knew who won by seeing the American ElleGirl Feb 2006 cover with Nicole on it before the thing actually finished (grrrr.....), I didn't know who was in the final until now. Now, I'm a pretty reasonable person and I've wanted Nic to win for a while now, so I couldn't believe it when she got to the final and I knew she wasn't going to win! I mean, I could understand it if it was Bre, but how in the hell did Nicole beat Nic???!! It's not that I don't like Nicole (she is a bit of a wuss though) but I think the judges were on something on that night because that is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard! (As you can tell, this is a subject I feel very passionately about) but......phew......I'll get over it.......eventually........! ♥

Oh.My.God. I FOUND SOME LEOPARD PRINT SHOES!!!!! IN TOPSHOP!!!!! AND THEY'RE ONLY £28!!!!! *sigh* I'm in leopard heaven! They're amazing and I am personally going to ensure that I get them at ALL costs! I've also seen this amazingly cute Chanel-style spin-off white quilted and gold chain clutch in Warehouse which I'd die for - it's so fabulous! It's only £12 and I am definitely going to have it! Alternative Fashion Week

So it's Alternative Fashion Week in London at ce moment! The outfits actually aren't half as bad as I was predicting them to be, but some are still.....interesting. These pics are from Fiona Todd's collection and are two of the best oufits in my opinion - but then again, I'm not really an alternative fashion sort of girl so that's why they're not too out-there.

This one has a cute sailor-girl vibe sort of thing. The neck-line and belt really break up the would-be monotony of the dress - not to mention the radio and sunglasses! And also I love the way that the whole thing is brightened up by some classic bright red lipstick - á la this season's Prada ads!

More red lipstick! Maybe it's just an alternative fashion thing?! But I also love how it's matched with the patent-leather red belt and bows made from "old invitations". Not one I'll be trying soon I don't think. But on the whole - very impressive! These people know how to mix it up, non?! ♥

Leopard, leopard, leopard....are you getting sick of hearing it now?!

So......the theme: leopard print dresses! But when is the theme not leopard print?! Ah, well - I simply cannot quell my deep over-ruling passion for it! Y'know I saw this 6th former today who had this leopard shirt on and fabulous leopard pumps (they looked like the Karen Millen ones I want) and I couldn't stop staring in awe! I must, must have them before this season is over! It would just be completely unacceptable not to own something that fab!

So, here is a leopard dress (v.nice - I think it may be the Roberto Cavalli one?) as worn by Jessica Alba (at least I think it's her!) at the Dolce & Gabbana show *sigh* I must either own one or get over my leopard thing A.S.A.P. otherwise I am going to be completely over-run with jealously for anyone else I see who has one!

An evening with Meg and Tom

For the first time in ages tonight I watched 'Sleepless in Seattle' *sigh* It's such a good movie and I forgot that! I've only ever watched it about two or three times in my life and on this one I didn't even watch it the whole way through :( but still, it was gooood! I also forgot how much I love Meg Ryan as well, I mean, she's done so many movies and she and Julia Roberts just epitomise the '90s romantic-comedy genre. Wish I had it on tape or DVD or something because I've forgotten so much of the full story and what happened and sometimes, y'know, it's nice to watch a film all the way through! There were some really random bits that I didn't remember, but then again, they just made watching it all the more fun! I'm in such a '90s mood tonight - watching that and then I was listening to Celine Dion and Mariah Carey earlier on - the divas of the '90s! ♥

We saw all those pics with her covered head-to-toe in Chanel as if she was endorsing it but we never actually saw any pictures of her advertising the brand and now it's been reported that she's doing a stint for Louis! I suppose the tabloids are going to be full with images of her flaunting more of her wealth by her new found love for Louis Vuitton bags?! Some people just have it all don't they? She was even quoted saying something as dense as:

"I love Chanel. I was doing a photoshoot for the brand today - I think it was for an advert?!"

The Oscars

So 'The Oscars' was the place to be the other night mes amies! Although, to be honest, no-one really gave a crap about who won what, it was more about who wore what! Am I right? Anyway, because I do not have the time nor the energy to recite a whole long list of names, designers and dress descriptions, I shall make it short and sweet for those of you who do not have many minutes to spare!

Okay, so basically, Keira Knightly won the best dressed award in stunning wine-coloured custom Vera Wang and a choker of a Bulgari 1960's vintage diamond necklace, whereas Charlize Theoron got a few funny looks in her OTT monstrosity of a John Galliano dress (no surprise there, then). With it's huge bow, ghastly shade of green and strange draping it won hands down the 'What in God's name were you thinking?' award.

Although it has to be said, Reese Witherspoon did give Keira a run for her money in the style stakes as she pulled out the big guns dressed in sensational 1955 vintage Christian Dior! (But, well, I guess she won the Oscar in the end so it was only fair - you can't have eveything!) ♥

Yes, yes - I am one of the few people who like them (excluding 9-year-old girls)

Y'know, no matter what anyone else says about the Olsens; I like them. I mean they have so much stick from the media and everything and especially Mary-kate for the whole drugs scandal and anorexia/rehab thing, but I think for now they deserve to be left alone. And plus (something else people criticise) they have fabulous fashion sense! They have amazing vintage dresses and accessories and they know what looks good on them! (And they know where to find them - the sign of a true vintage princess).
And I for one think it's awesome that they have the advertising contract with Badgley Mischka - I'm sure they'll do the clothes much justice!

But I was just saying. *sniff* ♥

Update

Hey again! So back to school this week - how depressing! I think everyone's starting to feel the pressure already and we've only been back for two days! So I just so happen to have given up not exercising for lent (you have to give up something you like!) and so tomorrow, I'm off to the gym and I'm planning to take up swimming sometime soon! So I think I'm actually making progress this time in the fitness area of my life! Which is good - it's just a shame the rest of it is such a shambles sometimes.

On the fashion side of things (to take my mind off everything), aren't these Juicy Couture earrings just so adorable? Makes me wish I had my ears pierced so I could have them! (Yeah, I know - "Who doesn't have their ears pierced?!" Well, me if you must know.)

okay so i've found this designer called 'manish arora' from india and the guy himself is a little weird (and, quite frankly, so are his clothes) but there are two pieces in his collection (both skirts) that i simply adore! i think they're so cute and if i had them i would only wear them in the house or something because they are completely unacceptable for public viewing - but anyway, here they are: a cute under-the-sea print knee-length skirt and an ankle-length jungle print skirt! they're just so adorable! ♥

Okay, so I know I should have done this last year when the dress actually came out but I was only just able to find picture of it! omg - saw a sixth former today with (of all the bags) a Chloé 'Paddington'! I was so shocked to see it! At first I thought it was fake (as most things in my school are: bags, personalities, noses...*ahem* no, I'm only joking but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true!) But then I looked closely - I must have looked like a right weirdo - and I could see the logo and all the characteristics and I could just tell it was real. And it was in pink! Which I wouldn't go for if I had the choice but it was still fashion fabulous!
So, it's my mate's b*day party tomorrow! Should be fun - sushi and cocktails (or should I say 'mocktails') and a sleepover (and a dress code :( - I own, like, one skirt!) but still I can't wait!
Loving 'America's Next Top Model' atm - fabulous and bitchy - the way a programme should be! catch it (if you're in the UK) on Living TV at 9pm on Mondays!

Loving the BCBG winter coat atm - so cute! (see pic) It's gorgeous I so want one! I wonder how expensive it is? Hmmm....I shall investigate lol. So I know I should be at school, but the thing is....I felt ill (kind of) and also I haven't quite finished that 1000-2000 word essay on film posters. Bloody FILM POSTERS. Couldn't they have thought of something any more INTERESTING to talk about???? Instead I have to waste valuable school time (ahem) finishing it off because it is simply too boring and I keep losing my concentration. So it's totally not my fault. But whatever, I hope to God I've finished by tonight :( Speaking of tonight - brand new America's Next Top Model!!!!!!! Wow!!!! So excited - should be really good, the new series. This week is such a fab week for tv, it really is. But don't go mistaking me for some tv-addict, couch potato kind of person - I'm really not, I hardly ever watch tv now, but even I must say there's good tv on! Yesterday was brand-new My Super Sweet 16, on Wednesday, there's brand new Desperate Housewives, Thursday, brand-new Project Catwalk and Charmed (but on at the same time :( - I'll have to watch Charmed on Living TV+1 at 9pm)! What a good week! But anyway, I really should go and finish the stupid essay. Oh and my junk food detox thing is failing, yesterday I succumbed to the deliciousness of a chocolate Cornetto and so I promised myself I would start today but all I've had to eat is some toast with spread and jam which isn't really that healthy. So....here it is....the 'Kerala'. The 'Paddington' is still being continued but in new styles of course but this is the bag that is supposed to take over from it. I doubt it will be a big hit. But then again, I'm biased seeing as I'm like in love with the 'Paddington'. Huh. Oh well, I won't cry! :(
On the plus side it was so many peoples b*days in the last two weeks its untrue! Today was my best friend Lora's and we had a cake and candles and i got her some fab prezzies (if I do say so myself!) they were totally perfect for her! On the 10th it was my friend Izzie's and we also did the cake and candles thing - I must cut out chocolate next week! Actually, that's a thought....I could set myself a challenge....no junk food, pizza, cake, chocolate, sweets, etc. from Sunday to Sunday. It'll be like a little challenge to see if I can actually do it. Hmmm..interesting...it will also test my will power as well as being good for me - kill two birds with one stone! Ok, so I'll post daily updates (or whenever I can be bothered) in the next week and confess on whether I've been naughty and sneaked some chocolate! And also, I've got to eat at least 2 pieces of fruit per day (hey - it is a lot cos at the moment I don't eat any!) Ok, so I'll start on Sunday and see if I can keep it up! oh my god! argh! i've just found out (via www.vogue.com) that Phoebe Philo is leaving as the creative director of Chloé! (see pic) i was so shocked! she was the one who created all the bags and clothes i love so much and she's leaving because she wants to be at home with her newborn baby :( i'm really depressed now - i can't believe she's resigning! i mean, she's only like THE designer and creative mastermind of the company since 1997 :( i couldn't believe it when i read it!
but anyway - i should talk about something less sad.
so, i went to see the harry potter 4 film last night (finally) and it was so the best one of them so far. usually, some of the acting in the harry potter films is cringe-worthy but on this daniel radcliffe was really good - so was emma watson as a matter of fact! since we went back to school this week, we got our exam results back (ahem) i wish i could have done better but all my teachers have said that i'm good in class and then do badly in the exams :( it's practically the same for every subject. but on the plus side, i found out that i got an A on my sherlock holmes essay (!) which i was really happy with as i thought i'd got a C or something! i guess i'll just have to work so hard for the exams in june then (sigh) urgh i hate exams - i always do so badly! but i guess it's ttfn i'll post again soon (if my stupid internet is workin! grrr.....) cya x♥x♥x♥x♥x
